Here at Wilson McSheffrey we make no secret that we have a special place in …
We have been very lucky to be asked to photograph so many weddings on the Isle of Skye. The rugged scenery and the awe inspiring landscape makes a jaw dropping backdrop for a wedding ceremony and is some of the most beautiful in the Scottish Highlands. Now matter what the weather is like the landscape looks magical and mysterious, perfect for romantic moments. We were honoured to be invited by amazing couple Jess and Steve to join them on Skye this June to photograph their elopement wedding. We were especially impressed by their determination not to let the rainy weather hinder their enjoyment of the day.
We really love the contrast of these elopement weddings to the bigger weddings. Both are fun in their own unique ways. We love the beautiful venues, details, elegance and the fantastic guests of the bigger traditional weddings but we have a special place in our hearts for the intimacy and laid back nature of the elopements. And Skye it’s self is becoming like and old friend!
Jess and Steve chose to have a humanist ceremony, which is becoming more and more popular since it became legal in Scotland in 2005. The great thing about humanist weddings is that they can take place anywhere, fantastic for wedding photographers who love to photograph outdoors. Jess and Steve conducted their ceremony on the beautiful rocky beach at remote Elgol with the imposing Cullin Hills in the background…perfect!
We are delighted to offer special rates for mid week elopement weddings (Mon-Thurs). Skye is a favourite but we would be honoured to cover elopements anywhere in Scotland. To find out more and to check if we are free on your wedding date please do contact us, we would love to hear from you!
