Previously on this blog we posted the story of Caitlin & Ryan’s beautiful Skye elopement, now, normally when a couple chooses one of our wedding photography packages they receive a pre-wedding or engagement shoot. Caitlin and Ryan were no exception apart from the small fact that on the day of their pre-wedding shoot the weather chose not to play fair! Gale force winds and horizontal rain spoiling the festive atmosphere we were looking for at Edinburgh’s Christmas market. With common sense prevailing Andrew, Emmett, Caitlin and Ryan decided to enjoy a nice hot coffee instead giving Andrew and Emmett the chance to have a good chat with the couple and really get to know them better.
With the weather after Christmas being much kinder to everyone Andrew and Emmett once more met with Caitlin and Ryan in Edinburgh after their wedding turning the pre-wedding shoot into a post wedding shoot! But we are so glad we did as Edinburgh’s beautiful architecture and Christmas lights providing the perfect romantic backdrop for Caitlin and Ryan’s first photographs as newly weds .

It was a wet and windy day last December when Andrew met up with Mav and Chris for a wee pre-wedding shoot.
Choosing to have it at Chris’s family Farm just south of Glasgow the rustic barns and beautiful countryside made a fantastic backdrop. Determined not to be put off by the weather Andrew, Mav and Chris headed outside and braved the elements. Fortunately Mav and Chris’s amazing sense of humour shone through and really comes across in the photographs.

While I think the photographs of Mav and Chris are really brilliant, I think I have to say that my favourites are of some furry friends revealed at the end of this post!

Mav and Chris were the perfect couple to work with and Andrew can’t wait to photograph their wedding at the beautiful Lodge on Loch Goil in April.

I always get a great sense of satisfaction when we complete a couple’s wedding album. It is just fantastic to see the whole story come together and capture the essence of each individual wedding day. Here is Iona and Ian’s wedding album design, which we have only just completed (and been approved by the lovely couple themselves!). We can’t wait for them to have the actual album in their hands!

Last December a lovely American called Caitlin contacted us with an exciting story. She and her teenage sweetheart Ryan were planning to elope to Scotland to get married just before Christmas, would we take the photographs? Being old romantics at heart we couldn’t refuse!
Choosing to have their ceremony on the beautiful Isle of Skye, Scotland’s reputation for dark and dramatic winter weather held true making for some lovely moody photographic opportunities. As with most weddings a few minor hiccups meant that with things running a bit late the ceremony took place mid afternoon, but as this was the Highlands of Scotland that also meant in pitch darkness!

A real photographic challenge but Andrew and Emmett loved every minute of it, here is the story of their day…

On a lovely crisp and sunny day last December Andy met up with Claire and Gary for a wee engagement shoot in the West End of Glasgow. Claire and Gary then married a couple of weeks later in the lovely Glenbervie House Hotel (more of that coming later!)

It is great when clients take the time to give lovely feedback, here is what Steve (see post below) had to say…
” We both couldn’t have wished for better weather for that time of year. And it must be said Andrew and Emmet made us all feel comfortable during the taking of the photographs.
We had planned a pretty informal day and your portraiture package fitted into our expectations exactly as we envisaged. All the comments from family and friends who were there certainly backed up how we felt.
We can’t wait to see the finished album, the photo’s are fantastic. Its been pretty hard to pick thirty for the album. :-)
Many thanks
Steve ”

Late last year in response to the current financial situation, which has made us more than aware that the budgets of couples trying to organise their weddings are being stretched more than ever, we introduced our mid week wedding portraiture package. This package is designed for those who have a tight budget to work with, are having very small weddings or are just a bit camera shy and don’t want to spend a long time in front of the camera!
The package is essentially a portraiture package for the bride & groom but is also flexible and can be adapted to each couples individual requirements.
To find out more about this package please click here.
To give you a taste of what the package involves here is the portraiture of Lynne & Steve who had a small family wedding last year at Glasgow’s Park Circus Marriage suites.

Taking a wee departure from weddings for just a moment, I thought I would show you some of Andrew’s other work. Working with Westside Distribution, a company who distribute musical instruments and electronic paraphernalia, to the music industry, Andrew has had the pleasure of photographic some fantastic singers and musicians.
Here are a few photographs from some of the jobs he shot over the last year…
From rock band Elbow, Mark Potter and Pete Turner…

It was our honour to photograph Aisha & Andrew’s wedding last summer (see blog post below) so to receive a such lovely comment from Aisha when we blogged a sneak peak o so long ago was a real delight, here is what she had to say…
” The photos look amazing so far and I just cannot wait to see the rest. Andrew and Emmett were brilliant on the day, very professional but also friendly and down-to -earth. They are extremely patient, made me feel at ease, and displayed great determination to perform an excellent job, despite the mishap which caused tears and despair but finally jubilation! Andrew and Emmett dealt with the difficulties very gracefully on the day and I am certain that the way they captured the story as it unfolded will result in a cherished album which truly reflects all the love and emotion (whether despair or jubilation!) that we felt on our big day! I will certainly be recommending Andrew & Emmett in the future.
