A Small Family Isle of Skye Wedding Set in an Autumnal Landscape
It’s really great people are considering an Isle of Skye wedding at all times of the year. No matter what the season the landscape is always amazing. So it was a real pleasure to photograph Rhiannon and Philips beautiful wedding in early November on the island.
We met Rhiannon and Philip the day prior to their wedding for a pre-wedding shoot. We met at the Sligachan Hotel which is pretty much in the centre of Skye, donned in wellies and walking boots it was fantastic to get in among the surrounding landscape which had gorgeous autumnal colours.

The Wedding DayThe next day we arrived at Rhiannon and Philips accommodation, Hillstone Lodge, while they were beginning their preparations and we began our photographic coverage. There we also met the rest of their lovely families who had joined them for the ceremony. From Hillstone Lodge we then made our way to St Mary’s Church in Portree for the small and intimate wedding ceremony, where our reportage wedding photography coverage continued. Once the ceremony was complete we headed out to the surrounding area for some wedding portraits, with Rhiannon and Philip in their elegant wedding attire providing a beautiful contrast to the rugged landscape.
With the light fading we journeyed back to Hillstone Lodge for a drinks reception and to cut the stunning cake supplied by Cakes by Fiona MacKinnon. We completed our coverage at the Three Chimneys restaurant as Rhiannon, Philip and their families were sitting down for the wedding meal.
