Lydia & Alan's Intimate Shieldaig Lodge Elopement, Gairloch, Scottish Highlands
In early March I had the honour of taking the wedding photographs of Lydia and Alan’s intimate Shieldaig Lodge wedding for two. Just outside of the village of Gairloch this part of the Scottish Highlands is as spectacular as it is dramatic. With both beautiful coastal scenery and breath-taking mountain landscapes, it is perfect for a runaway elopement!
Lydia and Alan chose my elopement and small wedding photography package is ideal for those having a smaller wedding and looking for shorter coverage. This package can also be tailored to suit your individual requirements, making it perfect for couples marrying in the Highlands of Scotland wanting to make the most of the scenery surrounding their wedding location.
In true Scottish style, the weather on the day wasn’t playing with wind and rain being the order of the day! Lydia and Alan chose to have their ceremony in the warm surroundings of Shieldaig Lodge before venturing out for photographs. We visited the beautiful Shore by Shieldaig Lodge, The foot of epic mountain Slioch, the golden sands of Gairloch Beach, and, the tranquil Loch Maree. Hats off to Lydia and Alan, they didn’t let the weather deter them and were fantastic as we dashed from the car when there was a break in the weather to take photographs. All in all, it was a great day, Lydia and Alan were lovely and it was brilliant to be out in the bracing Scottish Landscape.!
