A Cosy Wintertime Elopement Wedding in the Scottish Highlands
It was amazing to dust off my camera, after almost 9 months of lockdown in Scotland due to the coronavirus pandemic, to photograph Roxanne and Alex’s beautiful laid back wintertime elopement wedding. Roxanne and Alex held their ceremony at one of my favourite venues, The Lodge on Loch Goil on the West Coast Scottish Highlands.
Remembering the last winter elopement wedding I photographed there, I was excited as I drove my way from Glasgow through the stunning Scottish Scenery.
I began my photography coverage of the wedding as Roxanne and Alex went through their final preparations in the moments before their ceremony. After making their way through the lovely grounds of the Lodge on loch Goil, with the snow capped Scottish hills in the background, the relaxed and intimate ceremony was held in the unique and famous loch side treehouse.
Once the formalities had been concluded we spent some time making the most of the beautiful surroundings for some post wedding photography. I love to shoot in a natural style, allowing the wedding couple to relax and enjoy their day to the full!
As the winter sun was setting it was time for me to head back down the road, leaving Roxanne and Alex to enjoy a glass of sparkly by the cosy fire pit!
