Emma & Sam's Intimate Roulotte Retreat Wedding
It was a real honour to photograph Emma and Sam’s Roulotte Retreat Wedding. On a warm sunny day in June this amazing couple held their intimate elopement wedding at this unique wedding venue. Roulotte Retreat, based in the Scottish Borders, with its brightly coloured roulottes (French gypsy caravans) is the perfect location for a special boutique wedding.
Opting for shorter coverage, I met up with Emma & Sam, just before the ceremony began. The couple began proceedings by being accompanied to the ceremony location by traditional Scottish folk music. With the warm sunshine providing dappled light through the trees, the excellent Humanist celebrant David Elder conducted a wonderful handfasting wedding ceremony in the cool shade. Once hands had been bound, the broom jumped and the whisky supped, we explored the surrounding location of Roulotte Retreat to make the most of the lovely surroundings for some post-wedding photographs.
