Relaxed and Fun Shieldaig Lodge Hotel Winter Elopement
In late January I had the pleasure of taking the wedding photographs of Lu and James’s relaxed and fun Shieldaig Lodge Hotel elopement wedding for two. Located just 10 minutes from the pretty village of Gairloch this part of the Highlands of Scotland is remote, wild, dramatic and spectacular. With both beautiful coastal scenery and breath-taking mountain landscapes, it is ideal for a runaway elopement!

The last time I visited this Wester Ross wedding venue the sun was splitting the sky! This time the mountains were snow-capped and there was a winter chill in the air. Fortunately the rain stayed away, allowing us to enjoy the stunning surroundings. With the cool winter weather, Lu and James chose to have their ceremony in one of the cosy reception rooms of the Shieldaig Lodge Hotel, before putting on our winter coats to venture outside for photographs. We started in the beautiful grounds of Shieldaig Lodge, before visiting the gorgeous Gairloch Beach, and the foot of breath-taking mountain Slioch . It was such a great day, Lu James and their close friends/ witnesses Courtney and Charles were so amazing, and it was brilliant to be out in the wintery Scottish Landscape!
