Intimate Elgol Beach Micro Wedding, Isle of Skye
As a Highlands of Scotland photographer, there’s nothing quite like the beauty of the Isle of Skye to make a wedding day truly unforgettable. I recently had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Karim’s small and intimate wedding ceremony on Elgol beach, with only 14 guests in attendance. This winter wedding was held in mid-March, and though it was sunny on the day, there was still snow on the ground and mountains from the night before. It was a stunning backdrop for Sarah and Karim’s amazing day.
The preparations for the wedding took place at the New Lodge in Srathcarron, a cosy and welcoming spot that perfectly complemented the relaxed and natural vibe of the day. As the bride and groom got ready, I captured some beautiful and candid shots that captured the anticipation and excitement of the moment.
The ceremony itself was held on Elgol beach, with the mountains and sea serving as a breath-taking backdrop. It was an incredibly intimate and romantic moment, with the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore and the snow-covered mountains towering above. The couple exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family, with the entire ceremony feeling like a true celebration of their love.
After the ceremony, I took some time to capture some stunning photographs of the newlyweds among the stunning mountain and coastal scenery of Elgol and the surrounding area. The snow added an extra touch of magic to the already gorgeous landscape, making for some truly unforgettable shots.
The celebrations continued back at the New Lodge, with the happy couple surrounded by loved ones and laughter. As a photographer, it is a joy to capture day like these 🙂
