Rachael & Chris, A Relaxed and Elegant Gretna Green Elopement

November in Gretna Green can be hit or miss with the weather, and for Rachael and Chris, it was definitely a “rainy” hit. However, their elopement was a great example of how a relaxed attitude is the best thing you can bring to your wedding day. It was a small, quiet affair with a focus on the two of them and the historical setting.
As a Gretna Green wedding photographer, you get used to working around the elements, but it’s easy when the couple is as chilled out as these two were. They were in high spirits from start to finish, with plenty of laughs as we navigated the puddles together. The rain actually helped keep the grounds quiet, giving us plenty of space for some natural, candid portraits.
It was an understated and very chill afternoon. They didn’t need a huge production—just a quiet spot to say their vows and a bit of time to enjoy the moment together. I really enjoyed capturing this one. Best wishes to Rachael and Chris on their new chapter.
